I think a sofa by the front window in the bedroom would be more balancing than a chaise, since it's sort of a funny space. With a floor lamp toward the left and a side table, it would make a perfect nook for reading and lounging.

Indoor Chaise Lounge

I love the indoor chaise lounges pictured below.  We could use one of them instead of the pair, and put it on one side of the coffee table, and find two chairs to furnish the opposite side.  This way, we have a U-shaped arrangement centered around the fireplace yet also in perfect viewing distance of the TV.  Obviously, the chaise can be upholstered in any color or fabric, but I think velvet looks great.  Maybe a pale olive or slate gray?  

This specific piece seems to be hard to find, I have a friend though who may be able to custom-design it for us (maybe on the cheap!) if you guys like the look.
